- The country in which you live
- Information about your language skills and academic status
How we get the personal information and why we have it
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this data is the need to satisfy a contract to which you are a party.
The data we process is provided to us directly by you during your application to enrol in the After IELTS course.
We use the data that you have given us in order to process your application, which involves determining your suitability for the course and placing you in groups of compatible classmates.
Whilst participating in the e-learning course, you are invited to provide data about yourself to enhance social presence, foster engagement, and create a sense of community in the online learning environment.
The weekly live sessions are automatically recorded within Moodle, the e-learning software. The recordings cannot be downloaded and are automatically deleted after one week.
How and for how long we store your personal information
Your application data is stored in our encrypted database. We keep your personal data for as long as you remain subscribed to the e-learning course. When you withdraw from the course, we will delete you from the database and the e-learning course within one month.
Who has access to your personal data
Only the course tutor has access to your application data. We never share your data with any third parties. You are not permitted to share data about classmates with anyone outside the course that you are enrolled in.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access: you have the right to ask us for copies of your personal data.
- Your right to rectification: you have the right to ask us to rectify personal data you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete data you think is incomplete.
- Your right to erasure: you have the right to ask us to erase your personal data if you withdraw from the course.
- Your right to restriction of processing: you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data.
- Your right to object to processing: you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us at info@afterielts.com if you wish to make a request.
